Google, Linux, Microsoft, MAC, Oracle Heading Text
In today’s economies of application deployment, it’s not a “one-size-fits-all” model. The best practice model is that an application is chosen for its fit with the organization, and then, only then, is an operating middleware platform selected.
GOOGLE Operating Platform
Google announced a new operating system called Chrome. They created the system in conjunction with manufacturers, just like the Android operating system. Devices using Chrome OS, called Chromebooks, came out in 2011 and are readily available in stores. Chrome OS bears the same name as the Google web browser called Chrome.
MAC Operating Platform
MacOS is a series of proprietary graphical operating systems developed and marketed by Apple Inc. since 2001. It is the primary operating system for Apple’s Mac computers. Within the market of desktop, laptop and home computers, and by web usage, it is the second most widely used desktop OS, after Microsoft Windows.
ORACLE Operating Platform
An open and complete operating environment, Oracle Linux delivers virtualization, management and cloud native computing tools—along with the Linux operation system — in a single support offering that meets your business needs.
MICROSOFT Operating Platform
Microsoft Corp. became the leading developer of personal computer software systems and applications, moved into the business server market shortly thereafter. The company also publishes books and multimedia titles, produces its own line of hybrid tablet computers, offers email services, and supports computer peripherals (input/output devices), and portable media players. Microsoft operating systems are maintained at the latest version, with regular MS OS patching schedules and driving Tri-Point’s hosted private cloud environment to the max.
LINUX Operating Platform
Just like Windows, iOS and Mac OS, Linux is an operating system with one of the most popular platforms on the planet, Android, which is powered by the Linux operating system. If you find yourself battling obstacles like viruses, malware, slow downs, crashes, costly repairs, and licensing fees of other operating systems, you might want to take a look at Linux. Linux has evolved into one of the most reliable computer ecosystems with the smallest footprint on the planet.
Why are Middleware platform decisions so important?
Google, Linux, Microsoft, MAC, Oracle Benefits:
The selection of middleware operating systems are more different than you might imagine. Many factors need to be analyzed before making the decision. How secure are they? Has security ever been breached and attacked by. Ransomware?
When patches (PTF’s) are available, do they fix the problems currently plaguing you or does applying them only make things worse, even shutting down your operations? Are the middleware manufactures standing behind their product or have they “outsourced” the on-going support to a foreign entity?
vs. IBM i5/OS
Your organization must select a middleware solution that best fits your applications, however, many companies have taken a strong look at their business process requirements and see that some middleware solutions do not have the ability to scale as your organization grows, or to secure your most important asset… your data from the likes of Ransomware and other cyber-security attackers. Only one middleware operating system, (IBM’s i5/OS), boasts of having no breaches, no successful cyber-attacks and can scale from the smallest, most simple business application to supporting the largest, most complex of companies. You had better choose correctly, making your initial investment count both now and for the future!
